Dr. Adnan Al-Qadi, Coordinator of the Family Counseling and Development Foundation Taiz Branch, held psychological awareness activities for a number of displaced people in the Cairo Directorate in June, 2017. The session was held in Al-Wahda Girls School; it began with the Foundation work nature and its multiple services. Then introduced the nature of psychological trauma facing individuals as a result of war conditions, loss of family member, relatives, and property as well as for the psychological, physical trauma, and factors that increase the negative effects.
It also showed the role of the individual in confronting these traumatic conditions, and the positive psychological strategies, behavioral and cognitive in facing psychological trauma and negative effects. Dr. Adnan Al-Qadi reviewed Some historical models who were able to face adversity positively in order to give realistic examples. He, furthermore, explained the importance of moving away from negative strategies in the face of psychological trauma, such as continuous thinking in previous events (concern)
At the end of the session, participants were informed about free hotline (136) service provided by the Foundation to present their psychological and family problems which will be answered by specialists in the Psychological and Family Counseling Center. As well as for the possibility of conducting direct interview with a psychologist at the Psychological Counseling Center in Taiz University.
