Family Counseling and Development Foundation held an awareness rising session at Early Intervention for People with Special Needs Center on individual psychosocial support, where 40 participants participated in the Basatin area, which was shelled by rockets and missiles, lost their homes and some lost their loved ones.
The aim of the session was to raise the awareness of participants about clear strategies in how to overcome and how to cope with psychological stress and to coexist with them by using the right method to manage the challenges and difficult circumstances they face while trying to overcome them to continue to live fairly stable and calm.
Shefikha Noman, a psychologist, spoke about the services provided by the Foundation, which provides individual counseling and family counseling sessions. She pointed out that the Foundation has a free hotline number (136).
She also pointed out that some of the displaced women show symptoms of psychological anxiety, lack of comfort and nervous tension and pain in the joints and upper back and digestive problems, and also disturbed sleep and eating with nightmares and dreams and poor memory. Pointing out that depression caused by severe grief and isolation and loss of energy and appetite, leading to neglect of self and feeling uncomfortable in life.
