The Head of Development Cooperation at the Netherlands Foreign Ministry, Ms. Marika Wirda, today visited the Family Counseling & Development Foundation in Sana'a

During the visit, Ms. Wirda was briefed on the integrated mental health services provided by the FCDF.

At the beginning of the visit, Ms. Wirda expressed her happiness to meet Dr. Bilqis Jubari, charwomen of the Foundation, and said, addressing Dr. Jubari: "I have heard a lot about you and your great work to help people in Yemen, and I admire what you are doing

While touring the center's sections, Ms. Wirda expressed her strong admiration for the foundation's methodology in providing integrated psychotherapy services, and the high level of service delivery, organization and cleanliness that are well known to the institution.

At the same time, Ms. Wirda was unable to hide her surprise at the children's section and the "paint therapy" method used by the Foundation to treat children psychologically. She stopped by a number of paintings by children that tell their suffering and hopes for the future

Ms. Wirda also heard from some of the cases receiving psychiatric services at the center, during which they expressed their benefit from those services they had received

Meanwhile, Ms. Wirda said that her visit to the Family Counseling & Development Foundation was important to her, to see for herself on the ground the services the foundation provides to people You are doing a great and wonderful job for Yemen," she said"

. For her part, Dr. Bilqis Jubbari expressed her great happiness with this visit, which reflects the extent to which the Netherlands government is interested in and supporting the Yemeni people.

As Dr. Seif al-ddin Al-Miri, Consultant Psychiatrist, reviewed the obstacles facing the institution while providing its treatment services

Dr. Al-Miri said that the continuation of the conflict for more than seven years has led to the psychological disruption of a large number of people, and the deterioration of living conditions as a result of the war has left many of them unable to provide the psychological medicines they need, as they are expensive, which leads the foundation to seek the provision of these medicines free of charge

Pointing out how important treatment and psychotherapy is for cases that the institution is referring to for treatment.
